My very first 10 days in Melbourne

When I think about my “First” experiences in Melbourne, I can’t not tell a bit of the story…

On my third year of Management course, I absolutely needed to learn English. My level was very bad but at the same time, I didn’t want to move abroad. I was thinking about a way to make it happen without being far away from home. For about 6 months, all my ambitions were moving to Edinburgh (1 or 2 hours by plane and very cheap fares). Then, someone at school gave me the advice “people learn faster and their improvement is better when they move far away”. Why not?

A couple of weeks later, my “One-Way” ticket to Melbourne was booked. Air China was the company. September 1st 2013 was the date.

I was on a 28 hours-long journey, feeling happy, excited of what about happening…

On my plane I met my very first Australian friend on a stop in Beijing. I had the chance to meet his fantastic family who dropped me off at the place I rented for the first three weeks. There, I met Jolie, my Vietnamese friend and I felt at home instantly.

This article is about the first 10 days of my year abroad. I would say my best memories of my first ten days were…

Simple things are precious and made Melbourne even more beautiful…
