Shanghai – China’s new world.

Shanghai was the last stop of our trip in China – but not the least! How different from the other cities we had been to, it made the last Chinese destination even more special. Very modern, it appeared to us as the financial and business place of China. We felt that Shanghai was culturally different, not only the city is more cosmopolite than it is “purely Chinese” but also, the mentality of people living there is different.

To go more into details, we have to know that Shanghai is the largest Chinese city with 24 million of people living. Unbelievable isn’t it!? Also, it is the most expensive city in Asia to live in. People say it is very stimulating to live there, personally and professionally as it is one of the Asian most dynamic city. A lot of expats have chosen Shanghai as their destination – for example, 12.000 French people work there. Although, mainly people are there for a short period of time and it is less common to have strangers living their entire life there; internship, students…

Shanghai is not the real China! which can be a drawback if your main purpose to visit is to experience the traditional Chinese culture…
